Started with 563 additions to my music library over the last 12 months (and that’s just the ones that I kept). Ended with 18 songs that were my favorites over the course of the year. Some were found early, and some where found with just a day or two to spare in the alloted time frame. There probably could have been around 25 songs on this list, but I try to keep to my tape/CD-playing roots and limit the time to something that would fit on an extended tape or normal CD.
Some of these tunes earned a spot just because they have a great beat. Some are there because they have some deeper meaning that I connect with. Some have great lyrics, some are just okay. All are there just because I couldn’t stop listening to them. These span a lot of genres and across the music universe, but that’s what makes the list mine and fun to listen to.
