Ezra’s Day At Daycare

Well, day three of the ‘everyone is back to work’ adventure was the first test of the ‘really, everyone is at work’ day. I was on shift at the firehouse and of course, Ahna had to be at school….which meant that Ezra had his first full day at daycare.

As true to form, he didn’t nap well at all. Peggy told us that he napped for about 30 minutes in the morning, then 30 minutes at about 11, then for a little over an hour in the early afternoon. It’s the stimulation….and it’s something that we all have to learn to deal with. Ahna was able to drop him off just fine in the morning – I leave the house at 545 and therefore wasn’t able to help out much in the morning routine.

After school was over, Ahna went and got Ezra, fed him at Peggy’s house, and was able to stop at the firehouse on the way home (it literally sits on the road home from school). Of course Ezra was already asleep at that point, so the visit consisted of me sitting in the car with Ahna and discussing the day’s events.

The day at work was fairly eventful, with a noteworthy call or two, but not the type that I discuss here. When I got home this morning – yet another first, this time it was Ahna passing Ezra to me – I heard that he slept pretty well, so that was encouraging.

As I write this, Day 4 is going well…although he is currently refusing to take his afternoon nap. Tomorrow will mark another first: my Dad is going to primarily watch Ezra while I am in class at work. I’m sure that there will be something to report very soon….

  1. I am glad to hear things are going well…and Saturday you all get to play together!!! I am sure Ezra will be delighted. How much snow did you get overnight? Was it your first in Castle Rock? I was quite elated, though mostly for the moisture, and used it as a lame excuse to work from home – much more productive on the grant this way. loveyoumeanit…
